Chapter 26

Patting around the bed, I realize that Eski is already up and about. Opening my eyes, I find her fussing over a mirror, fixing her dress, and making sure there are no wrinkles. I think.

After a few brush strokes of makeup, she turns to me and smiles. “I’m ready!”

Chuckling, I climb out of bed, and look over my partner. Her makeup is wonderful. Not overly done, but enough to know that there is indeed makeup. She’s wearing a flowing silver sundress that will be perfect for the season outside. Small black flower prints are spread around the dress, giving it some definition, and drawing the eyes away from her bust.

With the way the dress sits, her chest looks bigger, and I know she’s going to have a lot of admirers today. While she twirls in front of the mirror, I do my best to get dressed. Going with normal jeans, and a comfortable black t-shirt, I slip into my shoes and join Eski in front of the mirror.

“How’s breakfast coming?” I ask as I mess with my hair. I’m doing my best to tame the wild look, and at least make it look like my hair is civilized. As for my beard, well I’m going to need to shave before we leave.

“Leave the beard, or only trim it down,” Eski tells me while stepping away from the mirror. “If we are going to a café, I didn’t want to make breakfast.”

Grabbing my grooming kit, I head to the bathroom with Eski in tow. “That makes sense. I’ll try to make this quick.”

Nodding, she stops before we reach the bathroom, and sits at the computer. I know she’s going to add something more to the basket, but what? I have no idea.

“Can I hit purchase!” she yells as I pull out the clippers.

“Sure, as long as it’s under ten thousand!” I yell back.

A few moments later, I hear her opening a box, and awing over what ever she purchased. Smiling at the fact my girlfriend is mysterious sometimes. I quickly trim down my beard.

Feeling groomed and ready to go. I pack up my kit and stuff it under the sink. After cleaning up the mess I created, I step back into the living room to find Eski admiring a new ring.

“Is that what you got?”

“Yes! It’s enchanted!”

“How much?” I ask.

“Only a thousand. The enchantment is to prevent pregnancy.”

Smiling, I reach out and grab her hand. “Well, you are going to have to wait to test it out for a few days.”

“I know…” Trailing off, she looks up at me pleadingly. “Are you sure I have to wait that long?”

“Yes. Now let’s get going. I already took the money out of the account, so we don’t have to worry about waiting any longer.”

Skipping to the portal, she happily steps through, leaving me behind.

“Well, she was eager…” Chuckling, I follow after her, ready to catch up.

As I leave the portal, I find Eski without her tail and horns. Her dress fixed itself
